Role: Moderator

Naveen Albert is a technology enthusiast pursuing a career in Network Administration. He swears by the Microsoft ecosystem: Windows, Office, Active Directory, Group Policy, and batch and PowerShell scripting in particular. Naveen is also an environmental and health activist, advocating for safer technology and minimizing and eliminating the use of wireless technologies. He adheres to the use of wired networking, desktop computing, and landline telephones.

Naveen is not on social media and never will be. If you find a profile for Naveen Albert online, it's either another Naveen Albert or an imposter.

Naveen's hobbies include writing, front-end web development (this website is one example of that), vintage telecommunications (esp. landline telephony, telegraphy, and Telex), and classic and vintage cars. He plans to one day own a comfortably sized mansion on at least 10,000 acres in rural Montana. The garage will be large enough for about 10 automobiles — you can check out which ones by clicking here.

Naveen's favorite author is Charles Dickens. His favorite books are Nicholas Nickleby (Charles Dickens, 1838), Pride and Prejudice (Jane Austen, 1813), Frankenstein (Mary Shelley, 1818), and Hard Times (Charles Dickens, 1854).

If you put Mr. Ralph Nickleby (Nicholas Nickleby), Mr. Josiah Bounderby (Hard Times), Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy (Pride and Prejudice), and Victor Frankenstein (Frankenstein) together, you might create a person reasonably similar to who he might become. Maybe.

What does Naveen like to listen to? He is partial to music released between the late 1950s and the mid 1980s. Considered pop music when released, these songs are more commonly known as "oldies" or "classics" today. For more on this, see his post from July 2nd, 2018.

Taking into account general fame and personal preference, here is his Top 12 List of Pop Artists of All Time:

  1. The Beatles
  2. Elvis Presley
  3. Chuck Berry
  4. Wings (Paul McCartney et al.)
  5. The Bee Gees
  6. Stevie Wonder
  7. The Lovin' Spoonful
  8. The Beach Boys
  9. Electric Light Orchestra
  10. Buddy Holly
  11. Billy Joel
  12. Bob Dylan

Don't be led awry: Naveen listens to more than just classic pop music. His favorite jazz artist is The Dave Brubeck Quartet. His favorite jazz album is Time Out (1959), by the Dave Brubeck Quartet. Getz/Gilberto (1964) from Getz & Gilberto is a close second.

Naveen's favorite TV program is Hazel (1960-1965). His favorite movies are, in order of release:

*While he enjoys these movies, they are not as much favorites of his as the others on this list. In general, the closer the release year to 1960 1971, the more of a favorite of his it is.
